What Is Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS)?

Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) is a connective tissue disorder that most commonly affects the skin, joints, and blood vessel walls. Symptoms include very flexible joints that prone to dislocation, as well as elastic, and easily bruised skin. In some cases, major blood vessels may dilate and even rupture. Treatment aims to alleviate symptoms and keep an eye out for complications. Medications, physical therapy, and occasionally surgery are all options available to tackle EDS.
