About Nova Combian

What is Nova Combian about?

Nova Combian was founded by Isabelle Brock. When Dr. Brock founded Nova Combian, she wanted to make sure she was forming an organization that would benefit patients and help them find a better quality of life. By founding Nova Combian she has been able to work with physicians to help them better understand connective tissue disease and the mechanisms that make these illnesses so difficult to treat.

Nova Combian’s goals benefit both the patient and the physician and that is what makes it so unique. Below are some goals of Nova Combian…

Research: Nova Combian wants to be able to fund research that will allow us to learn more about connective tissue diseases and their co-morbidities. Whether this be through thousands of case studies (or just one case study), or genomic sequencing, we want to link the symptoms to the cause and more importantly, we want to find the cause. We want to study the patient’s symptoms and find answers to the questions we have been asking ourselves for years. We want to link co-findings and connect the dots.

Education: As we will be conducting research it is also important for us to share what we are discovering and learning through this research. The only way for us to do this is through education. We hope to educate physicians through conferences, news letters, and publications, that will in the long run help physicians understand these complicated illnesses.

Funding for treatment: Nova Combian’s most ambitious goal is to fund patient treatment. If a patient needs financial assistance and attends a reliable EDS research institution or treatment facility, we want to be able to assist.

If you can’t run, then walk.

If you can’t walk, then crawl.

But by all means, keep moving.”
